IT IS GREAT REGRET TO INFORM ALL OUR CUSTOMERS THAT RAF COSFORD FOOD FESTIVAL 2021 HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO CORVID-19
BUT THERE IS SOME GOOD NEW THAT A RAF COSFORD FOOD MARKET WILL HOPEFULLY TAKE PLACE
24th – 25th July 2021 AND WITH HOPE THAT THE RAF COSFORD FOOD FESTIVAL WILL RETURN ON THE 23rd – 24th JULY 2022
Today we had an e-mail from RAF Cosford Team that although the main Food Festival for 2021 will not take place they are hoping to run a smaller event over the same weekend based on a market theme. Although the date has been set for the 24th to the 25th July 2021 times have not yet been stated but I would envisage that the times would be much of the same as usual for the event.
More information will be available here when we have it but in the meantime please see the circular we had from the Cosford Team below.
Our doors being closed for the public for a significant part of 2020 has made the last 12 months very difficult for the RAF Museum. Following a long period of closure, the Team at the RAF Museum will be focussing all our efforts over the next few months on successfully re-opening the Museum in a safe manner. The uncertainty around large-scale events this summer has forced us to adapt our events programme. With that in mind, the RAF Museum is unable to commit to the significant financial risk linked to some of our large-scale events this year. It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel the Cosford Food Festival 2021 but hopefully will return on the 23 and 24 July 2022
We have been racking our brains to come up with a solution for 2021 – we know that the Cosford Food Festival cannot take place, but we want to keep the event alive and give our stallholders the opportunity to present themselves and their products to our Museum’s visitors.
We are considering organising a MARKET for our Cosford Food Festival exhibitors which will take place on the 24th and 25th July, the original Food Festival weekend. Museum’s visitors can roam the market stalls in between their visit of our Hangars. The market will feel very different to the ‘normal’ Cosford Food Festival; it will be a much smaller event with lower visitor numbers. We will not provide marquees, organise additional programme elements but visitors will not be charged an entry fee. All goods must be sold for takeaway only, i.e. the goods should be packaged up for visitors to take home.
